How this report is made

Every number above is calculated live from public restroom records in the WayLoo database. Nothing is estimated or extrapolated. Records come from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), official city data such as DataSF and the San Francisco Public Works Pit Stop program, and WayLoo community submissions.

Facilities restricted to customers, residents, students, employees, members or private use, and records with closure notes that need review, are held back instead of counted. A record counts as documented only when it has a usable name, a valid location and at least two recorded details such as fee, wheelchair access, hours or facilities.

Counts show what is documented, not how many restrooms exist. Fees, hours and access can change, so check posted signs. Cleanliness ratings are not part of this report. You can add or confirm a restroom in the app.
